SINCE 1891

The wine produced in amphorae is the crown of our work. Nature and earth have endowed us with an entirely new dimension in Malvasia and Teran. Prolonged fermentation in amphorae and aging without removing the marc and the lees until late spring bring out its nobility. The grapes are born from the land, and they bestow their own juices to the land in order to turn them into wine.

Winegrowing

We are situated in the northwestern Istrian peninsula at 275m above sea level, with a view of the Alps and the Dolomites on one side and the lush greenery of pristine nature and a beautiful sea panorama on the other. Our vineyards are located on Stancija hill near our winery in Kanedolo near Momjan. The soil consists mainly of clay and is rich in marl, which gives the wines their special characteristics.

Our hard work in the vineyards results in grapes that are a reflection of our region and climate. There can be no great wine without quality grapes. This means that the preparation of a good wine begins in the vineyard.

We pour these grapes into your glass, revealing all the goodness and charm of the Momjan region, captured in the drops of Kabola wines.

Winemaking

Wine demands the freshness of the underground – it desires peace. In the cellar, the wine is crafted in order to bring out the desired features. Through shorter or longer maceration in oak barrels and amphorae, our grapes gain special notes. This is how our wines are born: Istrian Malvasia, Malvasia Unica, Amphora Malvasia, Momjan Muscat, RE Sparkling Wine, Teran, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Teran Amfora, Supremo.
